Derwent Valley Heritage Way
Follows the River Derwent through 89km of Derbyshire's mill valleys and wooded gorges, with terrain varying from gentle riverside towpaths to moderate climbs around reservoirs and viewpoints. Suitable for strong walkers tackling sections, but steep gradients and stile crossings make it challenging for buggies and young children—best attempted as family-friendly shorter stretches near Matlock Bath or Cromford. Dogs welcome throughout on leads near livestock. Showcases UNESCO World Heritage indust
