River Parrett Trail

Follows the River Parrett for 50 miles from its source in the Dorset hills down to Bridgwater Bay, mostly flat or gently undulating once past the initial moorland section. Best tackled in stages rather than one go—plenty of waterside stretches, historic bridges, and wildlife-rich wetlands around the Somerset Levels. East Deane Way

Traverses rolling Devon countryside with moderate climbs through farmland, woodland, and quiet lanes between Teignmouth and Moretonhampstead. Mixed terrain includes muddy field paths and uneven tracks – challenging for buggies, but manageable for steady walkers and older children used to longer outings. Dogs welcome on leads near livestock. Rewards with panoramic Teign Valley views, ancient hedgerows, and a genuine taste of rural Devon away from tourist trails.
