The first thing you'll notice at Snooks Farm isn't the view or the pitches — it's the alpacas watching you arrive with their impossibly long eyelashes and curious, vaguely judgemental stares.

This small Dorset farm site takes tents, campervans and caravans, and it's ideal for families who fancy something a bit different from the usual coastal scramble. The alpacas are obviously the stars here, and kids tend to be completely smitten. You're in proper Dorset countryside — green, rolling, and mercifully quiet — with the Jurassic Coast and market towns within striking distance if you need a day out beyond the paddocks.

Facilities are straightforward: toilets and showers onsite, which is all you really need when the entertainment's furry and four-legged. Campfires depend on conditions, so check when you arrive. It's a relaxed, low-key spot where the alpacas do most of the work keeping everyone entertained, and the pace is exactly as slow as you'd hope.
